Tracey Martin is a women empowerment advocate with a penchant for wit and fashion: She is honored to express these qualities as Miss Deanwood for the Miss DC for America Strong Pageant.
A proud, fifth-generation Washingtonian, Tracey Martin is an administrative executive with experience in writing and editing. She fancies video games, traveling, and attending comic or beauty conventions. When she is not working or partaking in her hobbies, Tracey is securing student grants and scholarships as the treasurer/board member for the Howard University Upward Bound Parent Association. She also: volunteers for several institutions throughout the Metropolitan Washington area; serves on additional boards; is a member of the Junior League of Washington; and enjoys fellowship at Reid Temple A.M.E. Church.
Tracey was married for thirteen years to the love of her life, Edward, until his sudden passing in March 2019: Her platform is widowhood awareness, as there are many women whose lives are affected daily due to spousal loss.
Determined, Tracey is also pursuing her master’s and doctorate in education and psychology respectively while being a doting mother to her daughter, Kylie. She is looking forward to vying for the crown alongside her sister queens in April 2022.
