Dr. Saehee Duran is a woman of many hats: She is a professor, police chaplain, minister, community leader, and national speaker while mothering three children (17, 15, and 11 years old) with her husband of 19 years. She is a first-generation immigrant from South Korea who is passionate about advocating for people from diverse backgrounds. She was recognized as one of the most influential women in Springfield (2020) and 10 leaders for the next 10 years (2021). Because she overcame a lot of adversaries as a minority leader in gender, age, and ethnicity, she believes anyone can thrive and live to their fullest potential. Hence, her platform is: So Can You! Upon receiving the People’s Choice Award, she intends to invest the proceeds to the Springfield CultureFest scholarship fund to empower young leaders of bridge-builders and peace-makers.
