Hi, I’m Sarah Houghteling, your Mrs. Alamogordo America 2024! I’m a very proud military spouse – my husband of 7 years, Scott, is currently a Tech Sargent serving at Holloman Air Force Base. We have 2 children, Rhiannon and Scotty, and between soccer, volleyball, baseball and cheer, our favorite family activities are the simple ones: having dinner together, watching movies, family trips to Target, and destroying each other at UNO.
From the booming film and tv industry to our beautiful state and national parks, New Mexico is experiencing a wealth of tourism growth. I’m so proud to be working in the hospitality industry, where I can play a small part in making families visits magical. My initiative for my year of service is focused around New Mexico tourism and the statewide benefits that are possible, particularly for our more rural areas.
In my spare time I coach my son’s soccer team, manage his coach pitch baseball team, chauffeur my daughter and her teammates to games and practices, and ride my stationary bike.
I’m looking forward to a year of returning not only to the pageant world, but to serving my community again. Alamogordo is a little town with a lot of potential; I’ve lived here almost twenty years and we truly are the friendliest town around!
