Cha-Kema, known as Kema to her friends, grew up in Baltimore. She is a proud mother to a loving squad of 5 children. Kema is a woman fueled by God’s love, joy, and resilience. She embraces life as an adventurous journey and has grasped the fine art of laughing at herself. She enjoys learning, living out loud, uplifting others, and being a mother to her fantastic crew.

As a single mother, Kema takes pride in volunteering with her children and being a watch party leader at Elevation Church.

Kema graduated from John Hopkins University with a Bachelor’s in IT, Digital Forensics. Her career path landed her in the role of a Senior Program Analyst at Booz Allen Hamilton in support of the White House.

Over the last year Kema has seen the academic devastation that covid has had on the education system and knew that it was within her power to do help. Kema is pursuing the Miss Maryland America title to bring awareness to the immense need for volunteers to tutor low income students through Dyslexia Tutoring Program.
